• Green - For Odette, green is akin to the color of life. The grass underneath her feet, the colors of leaves on trees, the stems of flowers growing in the spring. To her, green is beautiful. But as a vampire, it's difficult for her to appreciate the sights of spring greenery in the same way she once did. For at nighttime, the colors become muted and are more difficult to see than in daylight. So she cherishes the color wheel of spring and commits it to memory, because she doesn't know when she'd be able to see the world in the same light again.


• Dead - Well, Odette is dead, after all. No matter how much effort she puts in to maintaining her cute and youthful appearance. It can be unnerving to her at times, being reminded that she lacks a pulse, or doesn't need to breathe as she once did. That her inhumanity grows with each passing day, like a ticking clock. Even if she is stronger, faster, and could charm anyone she pleased with her supernatural allure, there is no reversing her decision to become a creature of the night. She will forever be an outsider to the living, whether she likes it or not.


• Dance - Odette has a complicated relationship with dancing. At times, the mere act can be an escape from the world. Gliding across the floor in graceful movements that make her feel like a beautiful swan swimming against the lake. At other times, it can be a reminder of the life her mother wanted for her. A prison of sorts, like shackles connected to her ankles, of tireless days spent with her ballet troupe. Even her very name is a reference to a ballet. It's an inescapable, horrifying nightmare at times. Even if there are otherwise days she find pleasure in her craft.


• Pride - Is pride a fault of a virtue? For Odette, this is a never ending question. She would often recall how her mother would parade her around like a little doll. A malleable clay for her to mold as she wished, and would often boast about her to her friends. Her mother's pride in Odette was something, she'd consider, could've almost killed her, as she learned how to maintain an eating disorder. But to contrast, Odette is learning how to take pride in herself. Not as an extension as her mother's ambitions, but as her own person. Her ability to adapt and persevere, to march on in spite of all the trauma. To Odette, pride is a double edged sword.


• Sin - To Odette, the most pertinent sin is to her is the 'diablerie'. In vampire terminology, this means to consume the soul of another vampire into oneself, and often considered one of the greatest crimes in vampire society. Though Odette, herself, would be considered guilty of this, the context in which she daiblerized Val was while her domain was at war with the Sabbat, and the Baron of San Antonio saw little issue with her doing so. This is not to say Odette hasn't come to regret the act, however. Odette shares her brainspace with Val, can see her memories, and even has to fight to keep her influence at bay. Considering Val is more brazen and violent than Odette, this has become something of a problem whenever Odette is threatened or provoked, and even whenever she needs to feed. Odette is rather pacifistic and prefers deescalation to fighting, whereas Val would be happy to kill her enemies or drain a mortal dry. It's always a push/pull with Val, to which Odette is constantly having to self-police.


• Flower - Odette belongs to the clan Toreador, often referred to as "Clan of the Rose." They have a penchant for embracing those who are beautiful or skilled at some sort of art, and Odette happened to tick both those boxes. She's always been quite tall for a girl, with long hair and glittering green eyes. She's often been told that her ability in ballet feels nearly effortless, like a rose in bloom. Gorgeous, but fragile. Additionally, she is quite skilled in sewing (particularly, lolita fashion) and painting. Of course, now that she's a vampire, Odette no longer has to worry about the fragility of her beauty, being completely accepted by those among the 'rose garden.'


• Cow - This is such a loaded term for Odette. 'Kine' is frequently used among other vampires to refer to humans, to the point it causes her to physically recoil, much like a sour feeling in her gut. She detests hearing it used, and often is forced to hold her temper. She's of the mind that, even as a vampire, your brain doesn't change overnight. That all vampires were humans once, and that they deserve more respect than to be treated as tools and food. She has asked those in her coterie that if she starts using the term, that she'd prefer to be killed at the hands of a friend, than to become a completely inhuman monster. And of course, they would expect the same of her.
